High-res photo I finished this illustration last month for someone’s birthday. At 12:02 a.m. on his birthday, I sent him this illustration anonymously. I thought he’d be weirded out, as any sane person would be. But he wasn’t. He posted it on his tumblr and instagram. His exact reply was “haha wtf!!! whoever did this you’re fucking amazin!!!!! hahah.” He then recorded a video talking about it too, which made me very happy. I’m not sure I’ll ever make myself known to him, in which case he’ll never know who made it. But I’m just glad he liked it. Thinking of doing another one for next year. I wonder how his boyfriend feels about all this though… ~ Jay

Another sneak peek. Not much progress from last time, but it’s something I guess. I’m actually making this for someone. He just doesn’t know it yet. I was looking through some other artists’ work tonight, and the more I see talented people who are better than me at this, the less confident I am that this dream of mine is going to happen. It’s a pretty scary thought when you’re 22 and you feel inadequate at the very thing you’re supposed to be especially good at. Feeling very unsure about my future at the moment. But enough of that. Back to work I guess. ~ Jay
